HKIT ensures the public is well served by translation and interpration professionals who are honourable and competent.

HKIT is the HK-based independent professional membership association for practising translators and interpreters.

As well as providing a networking forum, we represent our members’ interests, both in Hong Kong and internationally, by promoting continuing professional development, quality standards and awareness of the profession among government agencies and the wider community.

The main functions of HKIT are to forge consensus on long-term strategic issues, convey the industry’s needs and aspirations to Government, as well as provide a communication channel for Government to solicit advice on all translation-related matters.
